What is CBD and why is it so popular?

CBD or Cannabidiol is a key ingredient in the hemp plant. It is one of over 113 compounds found in the hemp plant. CBD and THC are usually present in the highest concentrations and are therefore the most recognised and studied. Unlike THC, CBD doesn’t get you ‘high’. CBD is non-psychoactive because it does not act on the same receptors as THC. Although CBD and THC act on different pathways of the body, they seem to have many of the same benefits.

Cannabidiol (CBD), work by mimicking natural endocannabinoids in the body. Endocannabinoids are part of a complex messaging system in the body called ECS, endocannabinoid system. This system regulates part of the nervous system, endorphins, immune system functions, hormones, mood and emotions, metabolism and many other chemical messengers in the body. Some benefits offered are as follows. Decreased pain, improved sleep, reduced stress, nervous system aid, help with immune dysfunction and chronic illness, cancer aid for reducing symptoms and possibly enhancing the effects of anti-cancer drugs and anti-microbial properties.

Our CBD products however are not intended to treat, cure or prevent any diseases or illnesses. They are sold as a food supplement only and are intended to promote everyday well-being.
